TORSION 3 is a garage door operator supplied to OEM and ODM partners who build and brand their own door automation ranges. Because it is delivered as an operator for a garage door, most of the quality of the final result is decided before the door ever moves. This walkthrough steps through the checks that matter before installation, during fitting, and after commissioning so that a TORSION 3 unit is handed over in a state both the installer and the end user can trust.

Step 1 — Survey the Door and the Site Before Installation

Begin by understanding the door itself rather than the operator: how it is built, how it travels, and whether the surrounding structure gives a stable place to mount an operator. Walk the whole opening, note anything that catches, twists, or binds, and confirm the site is clear enough for safe working access. This is also the moment to discuss the intended daily use with the end user so the operator range chosen for the project matches the way the door will actually be used.

Tip: photograph the door and opening from several angles before starting — they make OEM/ODM specification questions far easier to answer later.

Step 2 — Plan the Mounting Position and the Supply Route

With the survey done, agree where the TORSION 3 operator will sit, where its drive will meet the door, and how the site power and control cabling will be routed to reach it. Planning this before any bracket is fixed avoids rework, keeps the working area tidy, and lets you confirm that service access around the unit will remain possible once everything is in place. If the mounting arrangement differs from a standard one, this is the point to raise it with us.

Tip: confirm the routing with the end user, not only with the installer — the cleanest run is often the one they will have to live with.

Step 3 — Fit the Operator and Align the Running Gear

Mount the operator to the prepared structure and align it to the door so the whole assembly runs freely through its full travel. Work patiently here: a fitting that is forced or a drive that is out of line will show up later as noise, wear, or unreliable stopping rather than as an obvious fault. Recheck the alignment by hand through the complete opening and closing path before any powered test.

Tip: never leave the installation stage wondering whether the alignment is right — check it a second time before powering anything.

Step 4 — Commission and Run Functional Checks

Once the mechanical work is complete, power the TORSION 3 and commission it step by step, verifying that the door opens, closes, and stops as it should and that any control accessories respond correctly. Commissioning is where every earlier decision is confirmed, so run through the checks in a fixed order and stop to correct anything unexpected instead of moving on. Record what was checked during commissioning so the handover can be explained clearly.

Tip: if commissioning reveals a problem, revisit the fitting stage first — most issues trace back to alignment rather than to the operator.

Step 5 — Handover and After-Sales Preparation

Finish by walking the end user through normal operation, the checks they can safely perform themselves, and who to contact if something changes. Because TORSION 3 is offered through an OEM/ODM arrangement, this is also the natural moment to confirm that the documentation and any private-label material match what the customer expects to hand to their own users. The full specifications and a quotation for TORSION 3 in your configuration are available on request — tell us your door type, intended application, and supply requirements and we will respond accordingly.
